This series is all about digging into my record collection to explore electronic music from this century; really it’s an excuse to make some mixes featuring tracks I’ve not used before!
I’m an inveterate record collector, and I’ve ended up with a huge collection, including tons of newer tracks I’ve never used in mixes due to my focus on mostly doing 90’s mixes. Therefore my goal this year is to try to redress the balance somewhat.
And this mix is part of that process!
Often my mixes have some kind of theme, or at least thought process behind them, but not in this case – I just wanted to have some fun and put together a selection of great tunes to listen to. In that sense this is pretty similar to some of my other modern dubstep mixes, such as:
These mixes are far from the most listened to of what I post on Soundcloud, certainly compared to jungle, acid techno, or old skool, but I’ve always loved them. I love this style of music; I love playing it, I love listening to it. And sometimes that’s enough!
I don’t have anything more to say about the mix; just listen and enjoy.
