Flip, Mejle, and Meke edition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/distilleryimage7.instagram.com\/1c12698af2cb11e1aeda22000a1d0343_7.jpg\" alt=\"London tower blocks\"><br \/>\n<i><font size=\"1\">the view from my train home, in between Waterloo and Vauxhall<\/i><\/font><\/p>\n<p>Happy Friday!<\/p>\n<p>Hope you are enjoying the most recent fruits of my mixing labors: <a href=\"http:\/\/sonicrampage.org\/blog\/2012\/08\/pearsall-eurotrash-4\/\">Eurotrash 4<\/a> (shout to the mighty Watchtower for <a href=\"http:\/\/watchtowerrecords.co.uk\/industry\/pearsall-presents-eurotrash-4\/\">featuring it yesterday<\/a>!) and my <a href=\"http:\/\/sonicrampage.org\/blog\/2012\/08\/new-london-acid-techno-mix-7d\/\">acid mix for 7D The Seven Dimensions of Euphoria<\/a> (split versions going live today).<\/p>\n<p>As it&#8217;s Friday, I thought that I would catch up with new projects from three of the previous guest dj&#8217;s on Sonicrampage: <a href=\"http:\/\/sonicrampage.org\/blog\/tag\/flip\/\">Flip<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/sonicrampage.org\/blog\/2012\/08\/mejles-sonicrampage-guest-mix\/\">Mejle<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/sonicrampage.org\/blog\/tag\/dj-meke\/\">Meke<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"166\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"http:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F61609750&#038;show_artwork=true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>First up is Flip, whose 2005 <a href=\"http:\/\/sonicrampage.org\/blog\/2011\/01\/guest-mix-flip-presents-mentasm\/\">Mentasm<\/a> mix was featured back in early 2011 (and was subsequently <a href=\"http:\/\/thankyouforthehorse.com\/?p=601\">highly praised<\/a> by Plasmadancer on his invaluable Thank You For The Horse blog). Recently Eryk Orpheus uploaded his collaboration with Flip, The Gatekeeper, to his Soundcloud, and, well, it&#8217;s pretty epic stuff, if you like mental freeform hardcore. Ave it!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"166\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"http:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F57756069&#038;show_artwork=true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Next, on a (very) different note, is Denmark&#8217;s Mejle, the most recent guest dj to grace this illustrious collection of pixels that I call my blog. His <a href=\"http:\/\/sonicrampage.org\/blog\/2012\/08\/mejles-sonicrampage-guest-mix\/\">guest mix<\/a> last month was an excellent journey through many flavors of bass music, and this month he is back with another sweet selection, bashing through techno, electro, and dubstep with tunes from producers like Boddika, Mala, Icicle, and Trevino (amongst others).<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"166\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"http:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F55750822&#038;show_artwork=true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Finally, Finland&#8217;s DJ Meke has returned with In Melody We Trust, a hard trance collaboration with Helsinki&#8217;s DJ Neon. Mining that early 00&#8217;s hard trance sound, if you love sharp melodies and hard kicks, it&#8217;s for you. Meke, has, of course, already appeared three times on Sonicrampage, with his mixes Nostrum tribute <a href=\"http:\/\/sonicrampage.org\/blog\/2010\/04\/guest-mix-dj-meke-presents-nostrumo-a-tribute-to-nostrum\/\">Nostrumo<\/a>, his <a href=\"http:\/\/sonicrampage.org\/blog\/2012\/01\/old-school-mix-marathon-iv\/#YokoMeke\">Old School Hardtrancers II<\/a> mix in collaboration with Hamburg&#8217;s DJ Yoko, and his cheesey-yet-awesome old skool gabba mix <a href=\"http:\/\/sonicrampage.org\/blog\/2012\/01\/old-school-mix-marathon-iv\/#DJMeke\">Happy New Yearave<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Also, Meke&#8217;s collaboration with Sam Hard recently appeared on the (FREE!) <a href=\"http:\/\/ruffbeatz.com\/music\/1-releases\/52-freeform-release-freeformatted-vol1\">Freeformatted<\/a> compilation album. Go grab it!<\/p>\n<p>So there you go, loads to listen to over the weekend!
