Here’s a short-ish breaks mix that I’ve put together with some of the records I found at my sister’s while I was in New York, just like January’s Obsoleted. Since I have been procrastinating over doing a longer mix, I thought that a decent palate-cleanser would be doing a shorter mix. Happily the tunes all slotted together nicely (in my opinion) and the end result is a fine much. Obviously it’s nothing particularly revolutionary, being no more (or no less) than a nice trot through some nu skool breaks tunes from 2003/2004, culminating in Hybrid’s epic remix of Papua New Guinea. If you enjoy this mix, I suggest checking out Drop The Hammer 2, which should be right up your alley.

There will be a harder-edged companion to this at some point, but I’m not sure when. I’ve got so many mixes planned that sometimes it is hard to decide what to do! Projects currently on the planning board include several different dubstep mixes to chronicle my recent record-buying frenzy, an atmospheric jungle mix, a funky drum n’ bass trip, another classic and obscure acid mix, and tributes to hard house heroes Baby Doc and RR Fierce, amongst others.

Too much to do and too little time!
